Do you take insurance?

I do not accept insurance. Insurance panels have strict requirements and limitations dictating the number of sessions according to their standards. They also require therapist notes with a diagnosis.

I neither diagnose illnesses nor prescribe medications.

My fees are set at a low private-pay price and are due at the beginning of each session.

A receipt can be provided upon request for your records.

How do I contact you or schedule an appointment?

To schedule an appointment, you can:

Call or text (817) 345-6354

Email me at CindyStewart@EmpoweringCounselingOneOnOne.com

Or complete the contact form at the bottom of this page.

I offer a free initial phone consultation to verify that we are a good fit before your first appointment. If I am not available when you call, please leave me a message with detailed call-back instructions. I will respond to all emails, texts and voicemails within 24 hrs.

What is your cancellation policy?

You are given a courtesy text reminder (with your consent) with an opportunity to cancel or reschedule 24 hours before your session. However, with or without a reminder, you are responsible for your set appointment dates and times.

Clients who do not show or cancel less than 24 hours before the session will be charged a full session fee. This fee is due by the beginning of your next session.

Who is your basic clientele?

I counsel individual adult men and women for a full 60 minutes per session.

I’ve helped straight and gay clients work through post-relationship depression, low self-esteem, emotional trauma, forgiveness issues, and more.

I also provide a unique and successful approach to counseling couples. This allows the couple to see each other once again as they did in the beginning of the relationship without the judgement and expectations that have formed over time.

My experience is working with a diverse group of clients. All races, religions, ethnicities, and sexual orientations are treated with equal respect and confidentiality.

What should I expect on my first visit?

Your first visit will include reviewing your intake information and other forms with a discussion about your therapy expectations and goals.

Therapy is a process that depends on confidence and trust between client and therapist for a solid respectful relationship.

The first visit will be a great beginning to your new life. You can start today with a free phone consultation to determine if we are a good fit. My office hours are flexible, so together we’ll find an appointment to fit your schedule.

Will there be assignments or homework?

There are many different modalities used in psychotherapy, most which include some type of assigned thought or written exercise.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is one modality that I use and find to be most effective when the client participates in assignments.

What if I choose not to participate?

Alrighty then! My clients generally participate with notable results because they are here to reach their goals for a better life.

However, if you insist on just coming for the comfortable setting, bottled water, candy dish, and soft tissues I provide, I’ll allow it for a while.

Do you cram religion down my throat?

Oh, heavens no! Just because I’m an all-faith independent minister does not mean religion is discussed during our sessions… unless that’s what you are seeking.

Hey, while we’re on the subject; I also do weddings, funerals, and pet blessings!

Do I have to lie on a couch?

I would really rather you not, lol.

Should I wear waterproof mascara?

Probably a good idea… I do.

What apps make your life better?

Google maps, Gas Buddy, Wordscapes and of course Whataburger!

Cats or Dogs?

Both. Several years ago, my combined family included 5 adults, 5 dogs and 5 cats (with only 1 bathroom)!
